STEWART or STUART, Cumberland County, NS before 1870
I am looking for anyone researching the Stewart or Stuart families in Cumberland Co., NS that were there before the 1870's. I have reason to believe that they were all related.
I descend from Robert Stewart, who emigrated from Blair Athol, Perthshire, Scotland, about 1820 or thereabouts, with his wife Anna McDonald (also recorded in some records as ANN). They are buried in the United Church Cemetery in Fox Harbour.
His brother George Stewart also emigrated to Cumberland County. George married Ellen Wilson, probably in Cumberland County, and they had a large family.. Both ended up in the town of Wallace.
We had cousins in Pugwash, River Philip/Oxford, and scattered all around that county.
I am also related to the Thompsons, Moore's, Peers, Teeds, etc.
